Ford Unveils Limited-Edition Mustang to Mark 60th Anniversary

For six decades, the Ford Mustang has been an automotive icon, capturing the spirit of American driving passion and performance. As this legendary pony car celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2024, Ford is paying homage to its roots with a special limited-edition package that takes inspiration from the original 1965 Mustang GT.

When the Mustang first debuted at the 1964 New York World's Fair, it took the automotive world by storm with its sleek styling, affordable pricing, and powerful engine options. Over seven generations, it has continued to evolve while staying true to the soul of that pioneering 1965 model. 

The 1965 Mustang solidified the car's unmistakable design with its long hood, short rear deck, and the iconic triple tail lamps. Its clean, muscular lines made it an instant classic. Now, the 2025 Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package pays tribute to this genesis with thoughtful vintage-inspired design touches.

"We took inspiration from the original Mustang and applied some of the most special design elements to the latest in this limited production run," said Matt Simpson, Ford Enthusiast Vehicles General Manager.

On the exterior, the package features exclusive 60th Anniversary fender and trunk lid badges inspired by the 1965 cloisonné emblems. The unique 20-inch wheels boast a retro aluminum center cap design reminiscent of the '65 original. Vintage side stripes, a mesh grille with functional silver-accented nostrils, and smoked headlight housings further evoke the classic style.

The interior carries through the heritage theme with a serialized 60th Anniversary dash plaque. Fans can choose Space Gray, Carmine Red, or Black Onyx interior colours.

Stefan Taylor, Senior Designer, explained, "Our focus was capturing the feel of the '65, while also staying true to the Mustang as the modern sports car that it is."

Bringing the vintage flair into the 21st century, the package will be available in iconic Wimbledon White, Race Red, or the modern Vapor Blue exterior shades. 

Only 1,965 units of the 60th Anniversary Package will be produced - a nod to the Mustang's inaugural 1965 model year. It comes exclusively on the 2025 Mustang GT Premium with the 5.0L V8 engine, with options for coupe or convertible and manual or automatic transmission.

This immaculately crafted homage allows driving enthusiasts to experience a piece of Mustang history with all the modern performance and technology expected from Ford's legendary pony car. The 60th Anniversary Package is set to arrive at dealerships in Q4 2024, with pricing details forthcoming.
